Translation Statement of Truth - Example
QUALITY ASSURANCE & ACCEPTANCE GUARANTEE
At TS24, all certified translations of insurance-related documents go through structured ISO 17100:2015 aligned quality assurance process. Your translation is produced by a professional, CIOL or ITI-qualified translator working into their native language, then revised by a second qualified linguist against the source document, and reviewed by a certification specialist against the requirements of the receiving authority before delivery - whether the Home Office, UKVI, a court, or embassy. Our certified translations are always human-translated and human-checked, never machine only, and come with a signed certificate of accuracy and/or statement of truth from the translator - both included in the price. If your translation was not accepted by a fault on our part or any changes are needed, we'll amend your translation at no additional cost. Every translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting UKVI's stated requirements for translated documents.

Key Aspects of Translating Insurance Documents
- Accuracy & Legal Terminology: Insurance documents contain important policy, coverage, claims, and financial information. Translations must accurately reflect names, dates, policy details, and specialist terminology without changing the original meaning.
- Certified Translation:Depending on the purpose and organisation receiving the document, a certified or officially recognised translation may be required for legal, government, immigration, or insurance purposes.
- Formatting & Document Structure: A professional translation should preserve the original document’s key structure, including headings, tables, policy numbers, signatures, stamps, and other relevant details where possible.
- Language & Country Requirements:Requirements vary by country, insurer, and organisation. Always check whether specific certification, formatting, or translator requirements apply before submitting the translated document.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need my insurance documents translated?
If you're claiming on a foreign policy, or a UK insurer is assessing documents issued abroad, then yes - insurers and loss adjusters won't work from documents they can't fully understand, and they'll normally want a certified translation.
The same applies if the paperwork is going into court proceedings or to a solicitor handling a claim.
Will a UK insurer accept a translated no-claims certificate from abroad?
Most will consider one, though acceptance varies by insurer - some recognise foreign no-claims history in full, others only partially.
What we can control is the translation. Foreign certificates state entitlement differently - some in years, some as a percentage discount, some by reference to a claims history table. We translate exactly what the certificate says without converting it into UK terms, because that conversion is the insurer's call, not ours.
How do you handle policy wording and exclusions?
As contractual text, not general prose. Exclusions, sub-limits, excess amounts and definitions decide whether a claim pays out, so a loose paraphrase can change what the policy appears to cover.
Insurance documents go to translators who work on legal and financial contracts, and the translation is checked by a second linguist against the source before it reaches you.
Do you convert the currency and dates?
No - and that's deliberate. We keep amounts in the original currency and the original figure. Converting introduces a rate and a date that aren't in the source document, which is exactly the kind of discrepancy that gets a claim queried.
Much of Europe writes 1.000,00 where the UK writes 1,000.00, and a date written 03/07 means July in one country and March in another. On a claim where timing decides whether you're in time, that matters. We render both accurately and flag anything ambiguous.
My claim is going to court. Is a certified translation enough?
For most purposes, yes - a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy is the standard the UK courts work to, and it's included in our price.
Some proceedings, and most overseas jurisdictions, ask for notarisation or an apostille on top. We can arrange either, but it's quicker to know before we start than after, so check directly with your solicitor.
How much does it cost, and how quickly can you do it?
Short documents such as a certificate of insurance or a no-claims letter start at £30 + VAT, with certification included. Policy schedules and claim files are priced per word from £0.08 + VAT, since they have much higher wordcounts.
Standard turnaround is 24-48 hours, with same-day available. If you're working to a claim deadline, tell us the date when you send the documents.
